MOLGBTQA’s Grant Program aims to support the provision of efficient and quality services to improve the lives of the District’s LGBTQ homeless youth population. To accomplish its goals, MOLGBTQA’s grants program has created two grants to offers one-time grants to Community Based Organizations (CBOs) with a current and valid 501(c)(3) status located in the District of Columbia. Programs supported through MOLGBTQA’s grants shall be focused on the following priority areas: Education, Jobs & Economic Development, Public Safety, Civic Engagement, Health & Wellness, Youth Engagement, and Arts & Creative Economy.
LGBTQ Homeless Youth Training Grant
The FY 2020 LGBTQ Homeless Youth Training Grant is intended to fund programs that facilitate trainings on cultural competency and creating safe spaces for LGBTQ homeless youth. The LGBTQ Homeless Youth Training Grant program, in collaboration with the Department of Human Services (DHS), offers one-time grants of up to $5,000 to CBOs and shelters with a current and valid 501(c)(3) status who are providing homeless services throughout the District of Columbia.
Youth Empowerment And Self-Sufficiency (YESS) Community Grant
The FY 2020 Youth Empowerment and Self-Sufficiency Community Grant is intended to provide funding to programs that provide targeted services and resources to the District’s LGBTQ residents in areas of need in the community. This grant aims to improve efficiency, quality, and stabilization of LGBTQ homeless youth programs and services through a Continuum of Care program model (CoC) by offering one-time grants of up to $10,000 to qualified CBOs with a current and valid 501(c)(3) status.
Both of these grants will be funded on a two year cycle.
